Why is there a "daycare frequency" policy?

We are a cage free facility. We do not have kennels to hold individual dogs at a given time should your dog or another dog feel stressed.

Stress reveals itself in many way including excessive barking, jumping, digging, baring teeth, reactivity, aggressive behavior and cowering.

We require daycare dogs attend a minimum of one (1) time per week to ensure the pack is consistent and comfortable with each other.

For those who would like to board, if your dog has not attended within the last month, we require a re-visit plus 1-2 additional visits to ensure there are no signs of stress before you jet-off. We also require an emergency contact so we are confident there is back-up should we have concerns.

Having dogs come with enough frequency gives is knowledge and comfort that all the dogs at our facility will feel safe and comfortable.

Boarding and Daycare Requirements

All boarding dogs must have a local emergency contact for each visit (not your travel partner if they’re away with you). Puppies must be at least 4 months old and up to date on vaccinations, including kennel cough (as recommended by your veterinarian).

We require documentation for the following: Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Lyme (optional), Fecal Exam with Giardia Screening, and a copy of your dog’s current license.

A negative fecal test with Giardia screening is required every six months for all dogs attending daycare and boarding. Please ask your veterinarian to include this test in your dog’s routine care. Clean results help prevent the spread of microscopic parasites—particularly Giardia—which can be easily transmitted in group environments.

Will there be an additional fee if my dog needs extra cleaning or care?

If your dog rolls in poop or needs an unexpected full cleaning, there will be a $40 cleaning fee.
Our top priority is maintaining a clean, healthy environment for all dogs. Our team acts quickly to ensure your pup is thoroughly cleaned and comforted. We also track such incidents in our system to monitor and manage behavior patterns efficiently.

How long do I have to use my package?

All daycare and service packages must be used within six months of the original purchase date. This time frame allows us to maintain accurate records and ensure consistent care and scheduling for all of our clients. We understand that life can get busy, so we do our best to send gentle reminders as your package approaches its expiration date.

What's your booking, cancellations and refund policy?

An automatic confirmation text is sent 48 hour prior to all appointment. You can cancel with a simple "No" reply to the text.

How do I prepare food and medicine for Boarding?

All food must be in individually bagged for each meal (lunch, dinner) for each day (Monday, Tuesday....)

Please check your bag count! If there is a chance you may need an extra day, please pack an extra meal or two.

If your dog requires medicine, please fill a pill minder with your dogs name and medicine needed in appropriate days and meals (Monday- AM, Monday- PM).

Please make sure feeding and medicine details are also clearly written in Kennel Connection where you made the reservation.

How do you manage feeding?

We feed every dog individually in a private feeding room according the details you have shared in Kennel Connection as well as on our check-in paperwork.

On occasions, we may feed siblings together but only if clients have asked or agreed that siblings may eat together.

If you have a picky eater, please share recommendations. We have a few tricks up our sleeve including warm water, beef broth, peanut butter, pumpkin, rice and other treats. We take notes at each feeding how much a dog has eaten. If we notice that they have not eaten two meals in a row, we will reach out!

A reminder: While we keep track of dog allergies, it is best to remind us in your reservation if you are expecting us to feed your dog.

Feeding & House Food

All food must be individually bagged per meal (e.g., Monday AM, Monday PM, Tuesday AM). Please double-check your bag count and consider packing an extra meal or two.

If meals run short, we provide Open Farm Salmon “House Food” at $10 per meal.

If your dog requires medication, please provide it in a clearly labeled pill minder with name, dosage, and time of administration.

All feeding and medication details must also be listed in your Kennel Connection booking.

Puppies & Feeding Fees

Puppies under 6 months: Feeding is free.

Daycare dogs over 6 months: $7 feeding fee.

Boarding dogs of any age: Feedings included at no extra cost.

How do you manage medicine?

We charge $3 per medication administration. If your dog receives more than one pill during the same administration time (for example, an anti-anxiety medication and a supplement given at breakfast), the total fee is still $3.

If medication or supplements are given at different times of the day (such as breakfast and dinner), each administration is charged separately.

Medications are administered according to the instructions provided in Kennel Connection and confirmed again at drop-off. In most cases, medications are given with meals, and our AM/PM pill minders help ensure each feeding and medication is administered accurately.

If pill pockets are required and not provided, there is an additional $2 fee per pill pocket.

What are the age and vaccination requirements for puppies at Pet Companions?

Puppies must be at least four months old and up to date on all vaccinations, including kennel cough if recommended by their veterinarian. Some vets may have specific guidelines about when kennel cough can be administered, so we encourage you to check with your vet to ensure your puppy meets all requirements. A negative fecal test is required twice a year; please ask your vet to include this in your dog’s routine visits.

How do you ensure the safety and comfort of the dogs in your care?

Our team follows strict health and safety protocols, small group sizes, and constant supervision. We use positive handling methods and calming routines to help every dog feel secure and relaxed during their stay.

We may separate or crate your dog to help then feel safe and settled.  We will also reach out if we have concerns around stress.

What makes Pet Companions Bed & Biscuit different from other pet care facilities?

We specialize in enrichment-based, premium care that goes beyond the basics. Every dog enjoys a safe, nurturing environment designed to support their happiness, health, and well-being — like a vacation tailored just for them.

We also keep detailed notes on each pet, including health concerns, parent conversations, and any other notes the broader team should know.

What should I bring when my dog comes for daycare or boarding?

We recommend bringing your dog’s food, any necessary medications, and a favorite comfort item. This helps your pup feel at home and keeps their routine consistent.

Why does my dog need to come at least once per week for daycare?

We’re completely cage‑free, and dogs thrive on consistency. Visiting at least once a week helps them stay comfortable and confident in our pack, and lets us best support their wellbeing.

How is feeding handled if my dog is picky or has allergies?

We feed every dog in a private room, following your instructions. For picky eaters, we use gentle helpers like warm water, peanut butter, pumpkin, or broth—and note every meal in real time.

How long does a grooming appointment take?

Appointments typically last between 1–2 hours depending on your dog’s size and coat needs.

Do you offer breed-specific grooming?

Yes, please reach out for more information and a conversation, if necessary, with our head groomer.

Is Pet Companions the right daycare for every dog?

While many dogs thrive in our environment, not every dog is suited for a cage-free environment. That’s why we conduct thorough evaluations and offer alternatives. We also carefully track each dog’s behavior and are very strict about following our safety guidelines to ensure a secure and positive space for every dog in our care.

As a "cage-free" campus, we accept dogs that get along with all shapes and sizes, can self-regulate and eventually settle, is responsive to corrections (from the dogs and our team), and doesn't exhibit behaviors that create a stressful environment.

If your dog suffers from high anxiety, is an excessive barker/jumper/door rusher, is not comfortable with dogs of all shapes and sizes or is prone to destructive behavior then we are not the environment for you. We would recommend an environment with kennels to ensure the well-being of your dog and those around them. We do offer at-home services such as daily walks, if that might be a better option.

Do you offer updates?

We post daily on social channels like Facebook and Instagram. We occasionally post on TikTok. When possible, we provide report cards during boarding visits

Is staff on-site all day?

Absolutely. Our trained team is always present and fully engaged, carefully monitoring all interactions to ensure every dog’s safety, comfort, and enjoyment. We have a team member on campus 24/7, 365 days a year.

How should I prepare for an at-home visit?

Please have your dog’s essentials (food, leash, medication) ready and share any special care instructions or access details so our team can follow your pet’s routine smoothly.

What at-home services do you offer?

We provide personalized home visits for walks, playtime, feeding, medication, and wellness check-ins — ensuring your dog gets attentive, enrichment-based care right at home. We are also available for weekly yard clean-up.

How often should my dog participate in enrichment?

Every dog is different, but we recommend including enrichment regularly — even daily — to keep your pup mentally and emotionally stimulated. Many of our clients schedule a mix of calm and active sessions throughout the week for a balanced routine.

How can I add enrichment to my dog’s daycare or boarding stay?

Enrichment sessions are available as add-on services during daycare or boarding. You can easily book them in advance when reserving your dog’s stay or speak with our team to customize a schedule that best fits their routine.

What is enrichment and why is it important for my dog?

Enrichment is all about giving your dog opportunities to think, explore, and engage their senses. It helps reduce stress, prevent boredom, and bring out your dog’s natural curiosity and confidence. At Pet Companions, every enrichment activity is designed to support your dog’s overall well-being — mentally, physically, and emotionally. If your dog is boarding with us, an off-campus walk is a great treat, especially through the conservation land out back!
