Consultation Process

Thank you for your interest in joining the Pet Companions Bed & Biscuit community!

As a cage-free environment where dogs of all sizes and breeds play together, it’s essential that we ensure every guest is a safe and happy fit for The Biscuit.

To protect the well-being of all the dogs in attendance, a dog may not be eligible to attend if:

  • They are over six months old and remain unspayed or unneutered. Once a puppy is 6+ months they may no longer be intact.

  • They have a history of biting, aggression or excessive barking

  • They are not Licensed in the municipality in which they reside

  • They are not fully up to date on vaccinations, including a negative fecal exam, two times year

  • They have been asked to leave another daycare or boarding facility

If any of these apply, we kindly ask that you do not proceed with scheduling a consultation. That said, we welcome you to reach out if you’d like to discuss your pup’s situation further—we’re always happy to have a thoughtful conversation.

Consultation Steps --> Discovery Program

Meet & Greet

Observation Window

You’ll be invited to watch your dog’s introduction through our big observation window! This gives you the chance to see how they interact and adjusting in a safe, supervised setting. Coffee and cookies for pet parents available during your observation!

Yard Introduction

We’ll bring your dog to the front yard for a slow “meet & greet” with other dogs and staff. During this time, our team will be evaluating: Body language, Comfort & Stress level, Interaction with dogs and staff, and how they Respond to corrections from dogs and staff.

Consult Trial Stay

If the introduction goes well, your dog will be invited to stay for a few hours to get to know the environment.

If we believe your dog will be a positive addition to our pack, l you will be invited to join our Discover yProgram.

Attend Discovery Program

The Discovery Program is a four-day induction period required for all NEW dogs. The program must be completed within a two week period. Members of our team will spend one-on-one time with your dog going through the five areas of enrichment. We will also slowly introduce your dog to members of the pack. This process helps build consistency and confidence while also giving us an opportunity for any concerns to be identified and possible solutions offered.

Welcome to the Biscuit!

Upon completion of the Discovery Program, we will provide you with a detailed report sharing what activities we played, which they most enjoyed and what we recommend going forward. We will also share feedback on new best friends with a recommended schedule that matches up with their bestie as well as other recommendations from our dedicated time getting to know your dog.
