Our Story

I've walked in your shoes—many times!

I know firsthand how much joy, energy, and unconditional love a dog brings into our lives. For us, a dog has always made our family feel complete.

So we understand the very real pressure to feel like we are providing the best care for your furry family member.

Like so many of you, our daily routine was busy and overwhelming with drop-offs and pick-ups at three schools, work calls, meetings, and deliverables, competing after-school activities and frequent out-of-state sports events. With two (2) professional schedules and five (5) family calendars to navigate, things didn't always go as planned...

Oh, we had our share of missteps with "dog sitters" believe me! And boy did we feel guilty especially in those instances.

Over the years, I've loved my childhood dog, Missy, a Bichon who would sled down Mont-Royale on my lap with me. My husband and I adopted Zoe, our loyal Shepard-Lab mix when we first moved to Boston. Our Sweet Canada was our first "baby," a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named after the Montreal Canadiens (we didn’t name her, by the way.) Talk about baby, Canada even had her own bike basket and backpack. And today we have Miss Chloe, our scruffy eleven year old terrier mix rescue who brings us endless joy to our family of five six!

Professionally, I spent two decades traveling domestically and internationally working with a super-premium international brand (illy caffe) managing some of the best names in travel and hospitality—including United Airlines, Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Le Meridien and JW Marriott. I racked up over a million hotel points along the way.

While I spent a lot of time away, these brands had a way of making me always feel welcome, safe, and cared for where ever I might be. And that is where my epiphany for Pet Companions came from!

What if I were to serve individuals and families like mine who want the best for their dog and need a little support? And why not create a welcoming environment that goes above & beyond enriching my dogs quality of life when away from home.

Why if I drew upon my love of developing deep long-term relationship and couple with the amazing customer experiences I experienced (and sometime helped create) at the best hospitality companies in the world?!

That is the foundation of Pet Companions... for every client and their dog to feel truly welcome, safe, known and cared for in an environment that does its best of offers more... because don't our dogs deserve it?

And while, indeed, we are not the right fit for every dog, our dream is that every dog finds just the right place to love and care for them.

Thank you for considering Pet Companions Bed & Biscuit.
It is our privilege to serve you and support your commitment to your family.

Sincerely,

Laurel

Five Paws
Our faithful companion Shadow reports that he had a fantastic time at the "Bed & Biscuit" while us hoomans navigated pressurized aluminum tubes and family. The new owners (as of 2023) are fantastic at keeping us updated through direct contact and social media. Pet Companions is particularly specific to make sure the dogs all get along, so an advance site visit is required. Some differentiators is they have sufficient staff on hand at all times, the dogs have a good time, and they understand how to interpret "Woof, oof, Oofoh wah Ooof" and other things that our four legged friends say in the language of Bark. This isn't the place with the lowest cost by any means, but it is Shadow's favorite place to go. He knows it by name and looks forward to his vacations. The best thing -- he is smiles when we pick him up and then sleeps a lot to get his energy back for next time. Enjoy, or Shadow says "Arf!" (Pic of Shadow taken by Pet Companions)

My puppy, Lucky, and I just LOVE the people at Pet Companions Bed & Biscuit. There is no better feeling than knowing your baby is taken care of by people that clearly love her as if she was their own! Laurel has been so great and is on site almost every time I am there, which is almost daily!

I have a very sweet but very timid and anxious mini golden doodle, Bailey. Bailey started at Bed and Buscuit August 2022. She has been an upstairs, office dog because she has been too timid to go out in the yard. It is so clear how much the staff care about her. In the beginning she used to walk in shaking when I dropped her off. Now as my car approaches Bed and Biscuit, her tail starts wagging and she jumps out of the car with excitement. All the staff who greet her at the door knows her name and is genuinely excited to see her. Recently Laurel and staff felt that she was ready to go out in the yard with other dogs. It was carefully planned and thought out, and successful! The staff were so excited for Bailey and so excited to tell me about her big day! I know that Bailey is well cared for there and from day one I have felt very comfortable leaving her there. I would recommend Bed and Buscuit whole heartedly to anyone who is looking for a safe, caring place to leave their pup.
