At Pet Companions, daycare isn't just supervised play time — it's a carefully designed day that stimulates your dog's mind, body, and senses. Every dog joins one cohesive pack, with temperament-matched playgroups, structured rest periods, and enrichment woven throughout the day.

One cohesive pack, carefully managed by temperament and energy level. Our team uses gentle redirection and positive reinforcement — never punishment — to guide healthy interaction all day long.
Midday Rest Periods
Soft music, dimmed lights, and cozy resting spots — crates, beds, and futons available by preference. Dogs choose how they rest; we make sure they actually do. Rest is part of the enrichment.
Structured Enrichment

Trained, Educated Team
Every team member is certified through the Dog Handler Academy and receives quarterly coaching from The Dog Wizard of Burlington — one of New England's top behavioral trainers.
Daily Wellness Monitoring
Appetite, hydration, energy, mood — documented in real time. We know your dog's baseline and notice immediately when something is off. Every guest is tracked individually, not as a number.

The Discovery Program
Daycare isn't right for every dog, and we're honest about that. Our Discovery Program is how we find out — together — whether Pet Companions is the right fit for your dog and your family.
$50 non-refundable consultation fee. This covers a personal meet-and-greet, a hands-on temperament evaluation, and a one-on-one conversation with our team about your dog's history, personality, and needs. It's not a barrier — it's the foundation of everything that comes after.
Meet & Greet Upstairs
You and your dog meet with our team in a calm, private setting — away from the main pack. We learn who your dog is before they meet anyone else.
Small Group Introduction in the Yard
Your dog meets a carefully selected small group of dogs — matched by temperament and energy. We watch how they communicate and play.
Client Observation
You're welcome to stay and watch. We want you to see exactly how your dog responds — and how our team responds to your dog.
Honest Conversation & Decision
We sit down together and share what we saw. If it's a great fit, we talk about next steps. If it's not, we tell you honestly and help point you in the right direction.
30-Day Probationary Period
After approval, your dog joins us for a 30-day onboarding period — a chance for them to settle into the rhythm and for us to get to know them fully.

Drop-off is in the morning and pick-up is before close. Exact hours are listed on our contact page — and we're happy to walk you through the schedule during your Discovery Session so we can find a routine that works for you.

Consistency matters for dogs. Coming regularly helps them stay comfortable with the routine, maintain social relationships with the other dogs, and get the most out of the experience. A dog who comes sporadically has to re-adjust every visit — which is stressful for them and harder for our team to manage well.

We require proof of current rabies, distemper, Bordetella, and canine influenza vaccinations, plus a fecal test every 6 months. We'll walk through everything you need during the consultation — nothing will catch you off guard.

Honestly — no, and we'll tell you that. Some dogs thrive in a group setting; others are much happier with one-on-one attention. The Discovery Program exists precisely to figure out which kind of dog yours is, without any pressure either way. We'd rather be honest upfront than have a dog who isn't happy here.

If your dog eats during the day, bring their food pre-portioned and clearly labeled. You're also welcome to bring a favorite toy or comfort item. We provide everything else — beds, water, enrichment materials, and lots of love. Keep it simple; your dog won't miss the extras.

Intestinal parasites like Giardia can spread quickly in a group environment — and many dogs show no symptoms at all. A fecal test every 6 months is one of the simplest and most effective ways we keep the whole pack healthy. We even offer in-house fecal testing on-site, so you can drop a sample on any visit and we handle the rest.

Yes — all 10-day packages expire 6 months from the date of purchase. If you need a leave of absence, just let us know in advance and we'll work with you to hold your package accordingly.
